Day two of rehearsals

from right to left: Kate (vocals), me! Daniel (bass), Nick (vocals), Matt (producer). Missing frothe photo: Steven on drums and Corey on guitar.

Today we worked on a medley of about five songs, "orange blossom special", "devil went down to georgia", and "why god made girls." Everything is coming along very well! I'm enjoying thier company and we are for sure making good music. We have been given tomorrow mornig off to call our moms for mothers day (or go to church) so we have a short day. I am deffinitely tired so I'm looking forward to sleeping in a little!

We work log days but we do find time for a little fun. They grilled hot dogs for us today for lunch, and if you can believe it, they brought veggie dogs without even asking. I was very touched. Matt also brought a game of bean bags for people to enjoy.

So far so good. Everyone has been great and the music has been enjoyable. Yay!

First day of rehearsals

Picture from the facebook page of Holiday World
Today was the beginning of my voyage to Holiday World to play fiddle for a show called Country Live. Holiday World is a very large, very well loved theme park in southern Indiana. For more info check out Holidayworld.com. Our show runs from May 23rd through August 16th and I will be living in Santa Claus Indiana for the run. We have rehearsals starting in Tennessee then moving to the stage in Santa Claus in a couple days.

Our first rehearsal went well! We got oriented then played through some songs. It's a four piece band (fiddle, bass, electric guitar, drums) with a male and a female singer. So far so good! tonight I am exhausted, but I'm also excited for tomorrow. But right now I better sign off before I fall asleep.

Cheers!
